The design of BEN & GAWS dry bulk storage silos is made according to the loads on silo bins derived from American standard ANSI- ASAE EP 433:88 REV 2006 or German standard DIN 1055 1987 , wind load calculation (standard for 180 kmph)follows German standard DIN 1055-4:2005-03,snow & ice load calculation follows German standard DIN 1055-5: 2005-07. All the silos are designed for high cyclic loading.
Ben & Gaws manufactures FLAT bottom silos from 2.39 meter dimeter and 9 cubic meter volume up to 33 meter diameter and 21,000 cubic meter volume.
HOPPER bottom silos start from 2.39 meter diameter and 12 cubic meter volume and go up to 14.33 meter diameter and 1700 cubic meter volume.
BEN & GAWS uses UNI EN 10346: 2009 S350 GD+Z grade ultra-high tensile and high yield steel with fine molecular structure and controlled internal purity. It combines outstanding mechanical properties like fatigue resistance, toughness and formability along with abrasion resistance.
Silo roof panels, wall sheets, stiffening struts are made of G 600 grade galvanized steel sheet for better surface protection. For roof panels and wall sheets, marine grade Zinc Aluminium coating and Magnesium coating are also available as options which offer best available surface protection in harsh environments like saline environment in coastal regions, regions with high snow fall or rain and industrial environments with high ammonia concentration, high alkaline or acidic environments etc.
